Sharon Burgess; CIC
Vice President, Sales Executive, Business Insurance
What brought you to R&G, and why have you stayed?
I came to RogersGray for access to an extensive list insurance carriers. I’ve stayed because the management continues to make substantial investments into the agency, allowing us to provide our clients with the best service and resources available in the marketplace today.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
If I didn’t make it as the first woman NBA player (I knew I needed to work on my free throws), the back up plan was President of the United States. I visited D.C. several times as a kid and was already designing my monument.
What’s your approach to working with a new client?
#1 Learn as much about their operation as humanly possible.
#2 Educate you on the Business Insurance marketing and underwriting process so that you are empowered to procure the most comprehensive and competitive insurance policies through the broker of your choosing.
#3 Design an insurance program that will respond to best protect your company assets.
#4 Provide risk management services to address the specific needs of your operation.
#5 Be responsive, be proactive, be resourceful, be consultative, be there!
What’s your favorite local activity to enjoy?
Spending the entire day at the point on Plymouth Beach! After the piping plovers have their fill of course. 🙂
How did you get into your line of work?
When I graduated from Bryant University, I knew I wanted to begin with a career in sales and needed a new car. I began as a producer in training at Wausau Insurance Companies in 2003 and drove a Dodge Stratus.
What was your favorite song in high school?
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” Queen. Thank you Wayne’s World!
