John Gaynier
Vice President, Sales Executive, Business Insurance

How did you get into your line of work?
Like many others who find themselves in the insurance business, I didn’t initially set out to be in this particular industry. My family is involved in the industry which ultimately impacted my decision to pursue insurance as a profession. After graduating from Western Michigan University, I ventured to Southwest Florida to work in sales at a leading commercial insurance provider and found that I enjoyed all the industry has to offer.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I was fully planning on becoming a Professional Hockey Player and Pro Golfer.

How do you stay current with policies and regulations regarding the insurance industry?
I stay current in the industry by reading insurance publications and news bulletins. I specialize in the Construction, Hospitality and Real Estate and Property Management industries, so I am sure to read their industry publications as well. In addition to absorbing information from the media, I also take the time to network with colleagues and get an idea of what’s going on with them and their respective industries and specialties.

What’s your favorite food and can you cook it?
Definitely Chicken Parmesan. I cook a world famous Chicken Parm.

What’s the #1 tip you’d give to your clients?
The #1 tip that I give to my clients is to stay focused on loss prevention because in the end, it will help you achieve long term premium savings.

What’s your favorite local activity to do?
My favorite local activity is to spend the day with friends and family at Crowe’s Pasture beach in Dennis. It’s a great local “drive-on” beach where you can spend a sunny day.
