WHAT DOES AUTO INSURANCE COVER? SHORT ANSWER? RISK.

Liability Coverage

You don’t hit the brakes fast enough at a stop sign and rear-end the car in front of you. You are at fault for the accident. The other driver complains their neck hurts. Liability coverage helps pay for the other person’s medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Collision Coverage

You run through a stop sign and are involved in an accident with another car. Collision coverage helps pay for damage to your vehicle if you are in an accident with another vehicle or object, such as a pole or tree.

Comprehensive Coverage

An object falls on your car during a storm causing severe damage. Comprehensive coverage covers non-collision related damage to your vehicle. This also includes debris in the road or hitting an object in the roadway such as a tire or deer.

Uninsured/Underinsured Driver

You’re t-boned by a vehicle that went through a stop sign and it is found that the driver has no insurance. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage can help pay for medical costs and damages from an accident caused by someone who has little to no coverage.

Personal Injury Protection

You’ve been injured in, on, or upon a vehicle. Personal injury protection (PIP) is a no-fault coverage that covers any medical bills up to $8,000 depending on what kind of health insurance you have. PIP also covers you as a pedestrian.

Medical Payments Coverage

You swerve on the highway causing you to hit a guard-rail. This results in you getting injured. Medical payments coverage can be used after PIP and health coverage costs have been exceeded. This pays for your medical treatment. Medical payments coverage also covers motorcyclists and pedestrians.

**Claims liability determinations and exclusions apply.**
